Loxodon
In ages past, Loxodon society was tribal, xenophobic, and warlike; constantly fighting amoungst themselves in endless blood feuds. This all began to change when a warlord named Dobrun went off into the wilderness on his own after his family was killed in a retaliatory strike of one of the many nameless internecine wars. During his wanderings he began to come to a realization about the depth of the meaninglessness of the current loxodon way of life, and began to dream of something better. When he returned to his people, he brought with him the Way, and things would never be the same.
Nowadays, the Loxodon are renowned for the peaceful communities centered around the monasteries they create and maintain. Always talented stoneworkers, the ending of the interminable fighting allowed this part of their culture to blossom into something truly special and the soaring, seemingly impossible buildings that are a hallmark of Loxodon settlements are true wonders and trips are often made simply to see them. While many loxodon are content to stay in their cloisters, others choose to journey outwards and bring the Way with them wherever they go.
