Personal history
Cliff is a charismatic demon that was originally summoned into the Eastlands to destroy the city of Nersh, which he was successful in with nearly the whole city personally slain by him and him alone. He was stopped when the young adventurer Kel-Dai challenged him to a duel and won against him the two forming a mutual respect during the fight. He was encountered again in the Endless Maze while Kel-Dai, Siris, And Er-lan were there in search of Ardyll. He agreed to help them to the Tower Citadel in the center due to his respect for Kel-dai, guiding them through the maze and helping combat a Retriever at the Tower entrance. After parting way Cliff was invited to Kel-dai's wedding out of a small hope he might receive the gesture if goodwill and Kel-dai was pleasantly surprised to see the demon show up, though his return to the material plane remains a veiled mystery.
Employment
he served as a commander for Mephis's demon army and was tasked with the destruction of Nersh, which he saw as a waste of time but did so anyway to acqure the favor that Mephis offered him, the favor itself a mystery to all but the two of them
Morality & Philosophy
Cliff doesn't seem to have any outward problems fighting anyone, as long as the fight gives him some entertainment, and holds no negative feelings towards anyone he is fighting, always attempting to keep a conversation going during a fight. Most would say he is an honorable fighter whose word is just as good as a demon contract
