there are nine rings and each ring has X·ring number of seats, with the exception of the first ring, which only has one seat. it is generally true that the lower each number is, the more powerful the demon will be. Each demon can claim a lower seat by killing its current holder, and in some cases this new 'seat' will offer the demon new, and tangible, power
