Forestry: Issues

The Problems That Arise From Processing Trees?

Differing shaped Trees

The majority of trees are straight and don't have many forks in the main log in some of the trees this is not the case. With trees that have forks in the main trunk. They have the forks cut out so that instead of one main log they have more than two logs. These are then processed like they normally would be if the free was originally didn't have a fork.

Weather

With the deforestation that relates to the Forestry Industry. When trees are cut down the rain is not being absorbed so the rain will just collect onto the ground and therefore at worst flooding can happen. Most of the time the land becomes rather muddy, so to combat this the Forestry Industry will cut down some of the trees in an area to make a clearing so that flooding and the muddy ground is less of an issue. Clearings are often restocked with saplings.

Forest Fires

Forest fires are a frequent issue within the forestry industry. Forest fires are dealt with by putting fire breaks [1] in, so if lightning, for example, hits a pine tree and fire spreads it will only spread to the rest of the area, once it hits a firebreak the fire is unlikely to travel pass the fire break. The only way this can happen if a flaming projectile flies across the firebreak this has been calculated so it is near to impossible for this to happen. Fire breaks are 4.5 metres (~15 feet) wide.
