Aragona

The city of Aragona is called the grey city, due to its stone-paved streets, and its high percentage of sturdy and well-built houses, made from stone rather than wood. This usage of materials is attributed to a fire that almost wiped out the city about sixty years prior. This fire was caused by the breath of a great dragon, which was captured, paraded in the streets as an attraction, and which then broke free and wrecked havoc in the city. Its head was mounted in the palace of Aragona after it was, luckily, defeated by a legendary half-jotnar hero; Devon Stonebreaker.   The Aragonians, after the incident with the dragon, has worshipped the goddess of war; Ymir, fervently, as the dragon breaking free and wiping out large parts of the city, was seen as a sign from the gods that complacency is dangerous, and that there is no honour in such acts of hubris and cowardice, as parading a captured enemy in the streets. After this event and the defeat of the dragon, festivals held in the goddess’ honour have been held every year.   Aragona is primarily a city that survives by trading, due to its positioning right by the Median Fjord. The city has good relations to several large cities in Callimoria, and it is often a place where travelers pass over to the neighboring kingdom by ship. Aragona also frequently trades with the smaller settlements in Lostrath and Northgaard, and the city has a high percentage population of jotnar, who as mercenaries, come from the north to sell their services in the city.
