Astenor Character in Gaés (Archived) | World Anvil

Astenor

Astenor, creator of worlds,
whose very words affect great change,
what truly lies beyond your reach?
You, who saw Denemor, the dark,
undoing all your noble works,
knew the path you must traverse
and slew your twin with your sweet words,
allowing realms of men to grow.
Invocation of the Third Derrhin Hymn to Astenor

The earliest creation myths of various peoples of Eudokonia all speak of a goddess of creation, Astenor, whose very words formed the world ex nihilo, while her twin Denemor's words formed shadows and destruction. Arguments quickly arose between the two over whose words would reign supreme, and in an effort to save her creation from the destructive powers of Denemor, Astenor slew her sister, sprinkling the world with droplets of her blood. After this final act, Astenor withdrew and has never been heard from again.
