Elias Radenos
Radenos, a man of some import to their organization, has taken refuge in the ancient fortress of Stonespire. He must be brought to justice and made to pay for his crimes, but be cautious for he is a known alchemist in possession of a number of dangerous artifacts.
Taking advantage of weak leadership in the region, one of the three Sons of the Mint, Elias Radenos, led a group to secure the crumbling fortress of Stonespire Keep and develop it into his own laboratory outside of the ever-present eye of the rest of his criminal organization. Speculation regarding the reason for Radenos' departure from the city of Metilene flies about with little basis in fact, but the Minters' seizure of much of western Achenae has resulted in an increase in building materials being sent to the keep from further inland, and construction has begun on the citadel's renovation.

Personal history
Born into a poor dockworker’s family in the Low Docks of Metilene, Elias Radenos was destined for a hard life from an early age. At the age of seven, his father, while returning home from an evening of drunken revelry, slipped and drowned in the waters of the Arkansas river. To avoid total destitution and to save her older children, Elias’ mother sold him into the service of an alchemist in the Magister’s Precinct. It was only at this point in his life that fat showed that it had something else in store for him.
Employed with the base and menial tasks of grinding alchemical components for their eventual use, the young slave showed such a knack for the task that he was gradually given progressively demanding tasks until the time came that he was entrusted with all enchantment of the aged alchemist’s personal stores. On the eve before the old man was to formally declare to the Joannes Institute that he was to take Elias as his personal apprentice, the alchemist died in a laboratory accident, having never once told Radenos his name.
The young Radenos, fearing that the finger of blame for the death of his former master would be pointed at him, ransacked the old man’s personal belongings and laboratory before fleeing into the night, finding refuge in one of the many ale houses in the Sunless Baths. For months, Elias eked out a living by illicitly procuring raw alchemical ingredients and selling them in their refined, enchanted, forms to those passing merchants more interested in making a deal than in the morality associated with purchasing from known and legitimate vendors. With what little free time he had, he tried to recreate some of the simpler products he had seen the old man create. Some of his attempts were successful, although more often than not, they were nothing but a waste of time and resources.
Sometime in his twenty-third year, his life was to change again, when he spied a group of four men chasing a fifth, younger, man, crying out for his blood over the alleged defilement of their younger sister. No stranger to illicit liaisons himself, Elias was curious and decided to follow the crowd at a short distance. When the four brothers had trapped the younger man in a dead end and were closing in on him, Radenos opened the cork of his latest experiment and poured the oil over his hands, stepping out of the shadows. Without warning, his hands erupted in flame and dispatched the four of them in a single, great, conflagration. Thankful to the young alchemist for saving his life, the youth introduced himself as Fabrizio Restelli, seven years Radenos’ junior and a member of the Minters. The kindness shown to him that day, he told Radenos, would not be forgotten.
Shortly afterwards, Radenos was approached by representatives of the organization looking to hire his services for one task after another. With his newly earned windfall, Radenos was able to afford proper tutelage in the arts and was officially inducted into the Minters at twenty-five in a ceremony presided over by Fabrizio Restelli, with whom Elias had developed a close friendship. For two and a half decades, Radenos was a well-known member of the organization, but one somewhat aloof to the daily operations and often considered to be little more than Restelli’s cronie.
Whatever the motivation and speculation surrounding his actions in the organization, Radenos was crucial to Restelli’s bloody coup in 651AFE and was recognized as a Son of the Mint by the newly appointed First Son. Seemingly content to leave power in Metilene, Radenos has led a force of Minters into the abandoned fortress town of Stonespire and continue the perfection of his craft there.
Personality Characteristics
Savvies & Ineptitudes
A brilliant alchemist who has risen to his station in life solely through the patronage of his longtime friend, Fabrizio Restelli, and not through his ability to 'play the game', an activity in which he seems to have absolutely no interest. He was shown himself an uninspiring tutor and has not managed to maintain an apprentice for any length of time, and his duties as a Son of the Mint are largely farmed out to individuals hand-selected by Fabrizio Restelli.
Personality Quirks
Radenos possesses an extremely sharp intellect, although is often careless when matters do not interest him, as nearly all matters unconnected to his studies fail to do. He has a pronounced stutter at the best of times, and it is exacerbated when he is nervous. Furthermore, he has a tendency to trail off mid-sentence when he thinks his point has been made to such sufficiency that the listener is able to come to the conclusion on their own.
Hygiene
Typical for an individual with a singular passion, Elias has a tendency to ignore those matters of life that do not necessarily align with his ideal pursuits, often forgetting to bathe for weeks at a time. He frequently washes his hands and face, however, as many of the components with which he deals are quite caustic. He pays little attention to his hair or clothing, preferring simplicity to what he would refer to as "such frivolities".
The First Son
Elias Radenos is a longtime friend and associate to the current First Son of the Mint, Fabrizio Restelli, who seized control of the Minters in 651AFE and has led the organization on an increasingly violent series of actions throughout the countryside.
The Elevated City
Radenos has lived his entire life in the Grand City of Metilene and its environs. The city, situated atop the delta of the Arsanias river, serves as the capital of Achenae and controls the Akanthan Strait from the east side.
The Organization
As one of three Sons of the Mint, Radenos is a leading member of the criminal network that goes by the name of the Minters. He does not seem interested in using the wealth and prestige awarded to him for the position for personal gain, but rather pursuit of his craft.
