Manuelism

The Cult of the Divine Manuel is one of the leading faiths in the eastern reaches of the remnants Laparan Empire. The adherents of Manuelism see nothing in their ritual practices that separates themselves from mainline Triumthelites, a position that orthodox Triumthelitism denies vehemently. Like the Triumthelite faith, Manuelism accepts the existence of many, possibly countless, gods and goddesses, but worships the three Holy Wills exclusively. Manuelists differ from the primary faith in the doctrine that the basileus Manuel II Aristenos was hand picked by the Wills to serve them, his soul ascending to godhood on his death. In this way, the deified emperor provides an example for the faithful to follow as well as the power of intercession on behalf of the faithful.

Priesthood

The Manuelist faith is led by an order of hermit-priests known as the Keepers of Ascension, which is centered in the hilltop redoubt that serves as the Tomb of Manuel II. The Keepers are broken into two castes: the itinerants, who travel throughout the peninsula of Achenae extolling the virtues of Manuel, and the custodians, who live in the tomb of Manuel II and offer daily sacrifices to the Wills.
