Deathtoll

Deathtoll is a mage bell tower that is attached to the Twilight Citadel of Avatar. This building stands tall over the meager buildings in Avatar, and stands proud with the Twilight Citadel.   It is essentially a massive bell tower that was constructed of Obsidian and black marble, that has connections to The Grey Realm. To a few, it could be considered a focal point to magic and a school to the most devout of death-worshippers.   The mere sound of Deathtoll sends chills down the spines of anyone who hears it and the urban legend about Maelstrom, is if you hear it, your death is soon to come as well.

Purpose / Function

The purpose of Deathtoll is to ferry the newly dead over to the other side, Mostly to The Grey Realm. It tolls once a soul has reached it's tower, and acts as a tunnel to this new realm. Within the Grey, Avatar is again represented as a Grey City, and is one of the few settlements in the afterlife realm.   It is said the bell it self gives almost a mourning sound and very very dull yet loud of a toll when rung. It is the job of the Overlord to keep this building, or suffer the wrath of Drinalis, the god of the dead, and Lujan.

Architecture

The Tower is a massive obsidian and black marble tower attached to the side of the Twilight Citadel. It is to be the tallest building of all avatar, even taller than the citadel's bastions and towers it self. The design is heavily Gothic and can be heard for miles around once it tolls. The Bell it self is a metal alloy of unknown origin, It is said to have originated from the Ethereal Grey and designed by Drinalis himself.
