Klithzi (K-lith-sii (kobold))

The Klithzi Kobolds are a race of kobolds that live in the Sundaru desert on Niith. they are a rare of ingenuity and suffering. However they had eventually became on top of their issues as of recently. They are scattered about the desert, and have used the junk piles they have found from wars of years past to establish outposts and 'trading villages'. They attract many artificers and mechanics to their wares.

Basic Information

Anatomy

The Klithzi are a small lizard-like humanoid that has some draconic features that are evident in the species as a whole. The posses two legs, two arms and a tail. What is striking with the Klithzi is the lack of Horns on their head, but instead they have spines that run from their head to their tail. They come in a vaerity of different scale colors that are akin to the desert they are from. Anything from tan to brown scales to even some 'camoflage' patterns that may be present on the race.   They have a set of large ears that protrude from their heads, this is likely a desert adaptation that helps them regulate heat. They have a pair of eyes that can vary in colors, the most common is gold. Its is worth to note that their pupils are slitted, and at times in extreme brightness they can not see entirely well. That is why it is not uncommon to see a majority sporting goggles.   Traditionally they are an underground race, with claws that can rival the strongest alloys of metals. These claws are uses for digging and breaking up stone, as well as self defense. Thier sharp teeth are similar in concept. Though in their past it was said they once bit apart stones and even dieted on them but the kobolds claim this was a misconception.   They stand as short as three feet, to as tall as 4 and ah a lf feet tall, they stand digitigrade and due to this, they are able to traverse the hot sands of the desert very fast. Thier feet have pads that are meant to act as a heat cushion, these same pads exist on their hands as well. This feature, combined with their tough scales has given them a natural armor that is common in both Kobolds of tradition and Dragons.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Klithzi kobolds are naturally omnivorous. In their primal past, they were hunters, small predators amongst the Underfoot's smaller prey. They have since learned animal husbandry and agriculture. They have a particular taste towards what is called a Underfoot Stygis, a mushroom that they cultivated from the desert. Able to grow fast and well in arid environments, the kobolds use this in almost every food item they make. The flavor is said to be that of a jackfruit, but as a fungus.   With the evolution of technology and their ingenuity towards mechanics, the Kobolds have now deployed hunting parties in the desert to hunt large prey, larger than they could in the underfoot, to ship back home. They both raise a creature known as a Desert Roamer, which is a large herbivore that feasts on cactus and able to goo weeks without water or food. Their parties often hunt from what the world has called a "Klithzi Technical", a fast moving scout vehicle armed wit ha rifle or gun that they use to patrol the desert from any threats.

Facial characteristics

The Klithzi kobolds have a snout that narrows at the nose, mostly due to them and their digging history. An top of eyes that are described to be "Pretty" thier eyes can come in an array of colors, mostly like that of a dragon's. Thier ancestral link to the dragons is a heavy mystery that even the Klithzi are trying to learn. They were a relatively young race that emerged from the ashes of a past civilization.  

Injuries and Disfgurement

  Unfortunately, the kobolds are often target to hunters that see them more as rodents that need to be eradicated. These come from parties from New Allica. They are often forced to protect themselves or face horrible consequences if they are lucky enough to survive. It is not rare to see a maimed Klithzi. Missing limbs and blindness are common amongst them.   These attacks have pushed them to organize themselves into an emerging nation, which is at odds with New Allica. They wish to be left alone and be amongst the 'civilized' races of Gaia.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

As mentioned before, the kobolds have large eyes that have slitted pupils and large ears that are easily seen. Despite their limitations in bright daylight, they see best underground and even above ground they see about as well as an average human, just more receptive to flashes of light. Their hearing is top notch, their large pointed ears double as a radiator to the extreme heats of the Sundaru Desert and in turn are able to hear sounds for miles a way.   These sensory features helped them flee from danger when it was near, however due to recent developments the Kobolds are becoming less cowardly, and more agressive. These senses can be enhanced with their technology, making them amongst the best scouts in the world.
