The Czar Kingdom and it's Church
The Kingdom of Etrova is officially known as the Orthodoxy of Etrova, in a last ditch effort to appease the Orthodox church that has been ingrained into this nation since its infancy. This is a human-led Nation that barely has signs of any beastmen. Only where the church does not have eyes, some may reside.
The nation resides on the continent of Gateway, and it is known for it's conflicts with the Ician Nation due to the church's folkish tales about the beastmen.
Structure
The Kingdom is ruled by a Czar formally, but the question is who is really in charge? The Czar or the Archbishop? The Czar is an imperial dynasty that has been with the nation for a while, however with the growing religious influence the Church of Orthodox is radiating, is making people think otherwise. The Church is known to spread it's dogma through folkish stories and stories of the end and how salvation can be found only with the church.
The Czar was a hereditary leader that is appointed by the eldest child. Be it a female or Male, the title goes to whoever is the oldest. They historically have been vocal of the Church and how it is overstepping its limits as an organization to influence or buy into the State. However if either group made a move, it wpuild spell certian civilwar between the Royalists and the Religious.
Culture
The culture of Etrova is influenced by how they were brought up. the Taiga is not a easy place to live. They have a small underlying feeling of human pride and human arrogance that makes a few of them think that humans should be the rightful heirs to Gaia, and that all should either be brought to heel or brought under their flag, as a subject. This is what the church feds upon to bring its members into the fold.
The church of Orthodoxy says that humans were placed here on the world to be the rightful heirs to a fallen empire, to reclaim what once was theirs, and no one else shall share that. However there is also an equally opposing side that things the planet should be shared and not to be led by blind hate. It's worth to note that the church's members are not all hateful, some are just too afraid to voice concerns.
Assets
The Rupee, as their official currency has an interesting history and some internal strife that can lead to it.These are coins minted either on silver or copper that depict either a legendary hunter or a monarch that the kingdom had, recently the church has been getting portraits on these coins as well, which has upset the monarchy.
The rupee is a semi-valuble currency outside the country too, It is found to be accepted in Northern Gateway, however in Icia, they are adopted as charms or trophies, or simply recast into their own coinage.
History
Etrova started as a band of humans who stumbled upon the Taiga theoretically from the North. Tribes have since settled in the Taiga and over time, they found religion, and nationalism with how much they had in common with the other human tribes within the Etrovan Taiga. Scientific discoveries had since made permanent establishment possible, without having the need to follow the Summers. They have learned how to grow food in the unforgiving wastes, and with it, have tamed bears, and boars as their main food source.
Legendary hunters are a part of their stories, as these heroes from their people were known to set up camps within the lands. People followed them, and the belief is that every Etrovan city has a hunter associated with it. With these settlements and people joining the hunts, the settlements became larger and then the invention of the railroad had connected all their major cities into a chain. This led to an internal bloom and the church's rise to its prestigious position it's at now. Somethimes it operated in the shadows, behind the Czar's back.
Religion
The Orthodoxy is the dominant religion within Etrova. it follows the belief that mankind was set down on this earth to atone for the Combined Empire's tolerance of non-humans, and that they should not allow their rights or presence be washed away. This is the most extreme belief of this religion that most of the Dogma is made of.
There is an ongoing movement in the religion known as the Reformation-Orthodoxy, which eliminates the xenophobic tendencies of the base hard-line religion. This is the movement that is mostly accepted outside and within the fringes of Etrova, and outside of the world. Their belief is that their god, has set them down on this earth to atone for the arrogance of the Combined Empire, however they must take charge and lead by example to rightfully erase the sins of Pride and Sloth within the world.
