Massiez'Laire is a republic that is located on the north-eastern part of the Continent of Gateway. It's one of the Leading World Powers amongst Gaia. It's Capitol city shares the same name as the empire itself. It's a popular tourist destination and has one of the most extreme climate ranges of Gaia.
Climate
The Climate of Massiez'Laire is a broad array of such. From the Tropical coasts of northern Massiez'Laire, to the much cooler temperate forests and mountains of Southern Massiez'Laire. The Population is wide spread across the entire nation, with the majority living amongst the tropical Cassius Coast.Structure
The Nation of Massiez'laire is lead by a prime minister that one replaced the king of the empire. The people are directly involved with the election of the Prime Minister and his Senate. It includes one of the most diverse legislatures seen on Gaia, A mix of Humans, Mer, and even beastfolk that were born within the Empire's borders.
The Senate is comprised of thirteen individuals, that represent the provinces within the nation. they are directly involved with the laws and order of the nation, which is finalized by the Prime Minister, who directs the senate's direction and top concerns.
To be eligible as a politician in Massiez'Laire, one must be a native of the nation and atleast twenty-five years old. This includes any beastmen, mer, or man that were born as a citizen of the nation.
History
Massiez'Laire was a port city-state in its antiquity. As the King became more powerful, the lands have extended south to the Mountains that bordered the icy tundra of Icia to as far as the Telosian Islands. They have provided the world with an impressive water-based navy, which ranks as the world's largest. They however clashed with the Merchant Republic of Bellings several times over trade routes and exotic resources amongst the Telosian and Pakau Islands.
It wasn't until the year 1212 AS that the king was overthrown by a democratically-elected government, over corruption and lack of care for his people. This sparked what was known as the Royalist Wars of Gateway. Which ended with the king's death and the expulsion of Royalists from the country. Most of these people fled into the neighboring Bellings in hope to have them declare war on Massiez'Laire, but these dreams were dashed when their own king was usurped by an Unchecked Coroporation a hundred years later, officially ending any support the royalists had against their former country. The ideology wore off by the year 1345 when it was clear the time of Kings on Gateway was at an end.
Demography and Population
The Population of Masiez'Laire is an incredible mix of races. to those who were native to the country and continent, tho those who have moved there to pursuit their dreams. there's a notable large beastmen population amongst the smaller villages and cities, however Humans and Elves are the co-dominant races of the country. These Beastmen were asylum seekers to live a life where freedoms existed and that their views would actually count.
The humans and elves chose to live near the tropical coasts of the country while the Beastmen and dwarves chose to live further south into the Eastern Baanmandi Forest. However there is a Foxian population that decided to stay amongst the Cassius Coast of Massiez'laire.
The nation is known to be a free haven for seekers of asylum and thus has one of the largest populations of Gaia. The amount of people and folk who wish to serve the nation is an all-time high due to the personal freedoms that the country stands for.
