Desolo

The fourth planet in the Iota Proxima System (as known by humanity). This is the homeworld of the Vastus. This planet is located 6.85 light years (2.1pc) from Earth.

Geography

There is one super continent containing a vast desert with smaller pieces of land scattered close to it. There are pockets of steaming rivers that erupt from the inhospitable desert which much of the life on the planet ekes out a living.

Fauna & Flora

The dominate speicies of Desolo is the Vastus people. This was originally the name for one group of their species in the region they called Bah-go-kee, but after human intervention, this group rose to become the dominate force on the planet.   There are a number of creatures and vegetation around the steam created rivers that exist close to the coast of the planet. Fish-like species and wildlife generally does not exceed over 200 lbs in the continent due to a scarcity in resources, but in the ocean, life has been known the be comparable in size to modern Earth sea creatures.   Vegetation that resembles trees and plants only reach up to three meters in height with crops that are harvested by the Vastus being found all around habitable areas. During storms or attempted consumption, vegetation retracts into the soil saving the fauna from exposure to the elements and predators.

Natural Resources

Water from steam-sourced parts of the continent are coveted by all life as these sources are the primary way of getting fresh water. Plant-like vegetation provides oxygen. Crops that have evolved to survive inhospitable conditions and have near perfect harvesting rates.
