History

The Vastus evolved from amphibian-like creatures that came to the shores of an ancient continent of the planet that existed millions of years ago. Over those millions of years, the continents began to join together and created a massive desert which enveloped the planet's surface. Those amphibians adapted to this by becoming partially bipedal and developing a hardened layer of skin as protection from their sun. As life on the surface died in a massive die off like the Permian extinction, the Vastus were able to etch out a living and develop communities along moisture pockets near the coasts of the super-continent. Agriculture took root around 13,000 BCE with the domestication of local fauna following shortly after. In 290 BCE, a legendary figure known as Aluki-Maro was said to have united the Vastus of Bah-go-kee under one Castu and had so much power that all Vastus that are alive in the 24th century CE are descendants of him. In 301 CE and unknown catastrophe fell upon Desolo creating even harder conditions for survival which brought the unity of Aluki-Maro's empire to an end and regressed the Vastus in culture and technological advancement. They would eventually regain their former glory with the rise of the New Kingdoms in 1209. Where Bah-go-kee and neighboring regions would expand in a medieval-like era of warring for resources and slow technological development until the arrival of the human led exploration team on board the I.N.S.O. Sentience.
