Frigate

A frigate is a type of warship that is used by naval powers to patrol and protect their trade routes and colonies from pirate attacks. They are typically faster and more maneuverable than larger ships and outgun them. Frigates are used to hunt down and capture enemy vessels, with their armament of small and medium caliber guns for broadsides. The crew is trained for hand to hand combat and frigate often carries sailors to board and capture ships. They play a role of chasing and giving support to merchant vessels being targeted by pirates.
