Hego is the younger brother of Addikus and Remus Windslayer. He lives outside Clarion near the Seeker laboratory. He is the only found person to be immune to the Black Fog while also being a carrier of its illness. The problem is that he is also immune to the cure created by the Silverstaff brothers. He is the last known Foggie because everyone else has been protected after the Black Plague. Hego’s body is magically cursed and inflicts the disease onto anyone that in near his proximity. The three brothers lost their mother to a resurgence of the Black Fog, unknowingly caused by Hego at a young age. Remus has kept the young Windslayer in a protective shield stationed in the old lighthouse in the Sommar Ward of Clarion. This magic bubble is called the Aurorial Boreald. Hego has lived his entire adult life in seclusion besides members of the Seekers in protected garb. His brothers visited when they could but Rudelf gained rank within the Merkaynian Enclave while a Addikus took their family throne as Eastking.
Hego’s affliction cause the rich folk of this Ward to leave or get sick. The Sommar Ward is now called the Blighted Ward.
After Vlox chose an avatar in the Harrowed Incinerin, it became clear that corruption of one’s body could only last so long. Bedlam was chosen next to be the vestibule of the corruption god and was tasked with finding a host that could survive Vlox’s essence inside. Vlox’s presence caused the same affliction on the soul as the plague did, this is because the power source that was activated in Fogholt to start the Fogholt was derived from the power of Vlox.
Hego was the ideal host as he was immune to the effects of the tumour upon one’s body that come with Vlox choosing you. Hego was taken by Bedlam and is now hosting the material manifestation of Vlox.
