Detrik became largely detestable as well as detestably large. He ate away in his castle while his people fought famine. Detrik is now such a large man that he uses his powerful gravity magic as well as some gnomon tech to hover in his magical chair that he had adorned with weapons of magic and ingenuity. Detrik is one of the wealthiest Lourds not directly connected to the ruling family (your family, although up the line their would be connection back in Belcour). The issue is that he also hates your family, sees their marriage alliance as something that killed his ancestors nation. He hates you, he hates your parents and he even hates your cousin. She must have needed money to ally herself with the house of Von Gras as they both are as likely to backstab eachother as they are to actually compete whatever goal Cynthia has.
