Syvis Quixana
The Quarter-Master of The Last Resort and Sirocco's bladesinging mentor.
Syvis Quixana was born in the city of Inemoth, in the Zlordian Enclave. As a second generation Zlordian, most of Trislera had been mapped by the time Syvis reached maturity. Inemouth was a port city with 1 decrepit ship and 2 boats. The rest of them had long been sunk by the monsters that lived off the western coast of Trislera. Syvis believed that there was a safe path through the monsters to unknown seas beyond, a belief that was not widely shared amongst Inemouth "sailors". Most of the monsters were avoidable through divination magic, but there was one creature that evaded every mage's eye. A legendary kraken that could not be detected by magic. Syvis has never told anyone how she managed to do it, but she divined a safe path, stole a boat, and escaped the kraken. Syvis came across The Last Resort several weeks into her journey, and would eventually be made Quarter-Master.
Over the years, Syvis's divination would assist The Last Resort in picking the right target, and her bladesinging would help safely extract assets from said targets. She could have transferred to a different, more profitable crew, but for some reason she stuck with The Last Resort and Captain Darby. One day, after docking at a small island, Syvis discovered a young orphan air genasi stowed away on board The Last Resort. She decided to take Sirocco in as her assistant and taught Sirocco navigation and bladesinging. She refused to teach Sirocco anything from the Divination school, however.
