Kali Chain

The chain is a common piece of jewelry that denotes statues of matriarchs in families. The Kali is worn to show she is connected to the past present and future of her house or whatever she rules over with jewels palaces over the heart indicating the present, the belly button indicating the past and the vagina indicating the future. The piece was first only worn those adhering to the religious teachings of the Vonti but has since spread into many other cultures. The male counterpart is called the Ilak and has not had the same gain in popularity.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

A Kali is made up of four to five pieces, the tradition Kali has the Uli, the jem over the heart repressing the present, the Sasi the jem over the belliebutton repressing the past, and the Vikski the jem over the vagina repressing the future. The chain used to bind these all together is called the Pel and it is usually a thing circular chain commonly decorated with charms that is common in all Kali. A tradition Kali will have a second chain that raps round the first and making intricate knots over signifaict areas of the body such as the top of the shoulders where Nori and Mora rest. This chain is always 476 links long to represent the myth of creation and destruction.

Manufacturing process

It is relatively easier to find the parts to a Kali then to make it as the process called the trails is not a widely practiced craft. Even harder is convincing a Trivna to perform them. A Trivna taking the materials and goes through three phases of making, the first is the search, a Trivna does this so they know that the Kali will hold power, usually this process varies by reagin and Trivna, many ask questions about the wearer or divine the outcome by the materials given but this stage is where the Kali is accepted or rejected. Then the second phase, the Making, is where the Trivna begins weaving the chains together around the gems. The last phase is called the Rising but little to nothing is known about it and its a deeply held secret. Many suspect that there is nothing happening just old women chanting and wailing proclaiming they have enchanted the chains but many believe a Kali must pass though the last phase to be completed. If a Kali breaks in this phase then often the Trivna will abandon her craft delivering the news that she mispronounced the future of the Kali and its wearer. The failer to make a Kali has deposed some.

Significance

Kali can be commonly found in Mandor and surrounding islands but is relatively uncommon in other parts of the world. The second jem known as the Sasi is the hardest to find since it must be from an older Kali's Uli or present jem. The best Kali's are always like this though a Kali can be made in different ways this is traditional and considered lucky.
Raw materials & Components
Tradition Kali's are made of peridot, citrine, and zircon. The first to bring confidence and good leadership. The second to heal old wounds and bring betterment in the present, and the last to guide into the future. The chains are made of any material the giddier thinks represents the wearer or the house. Other gems can be used in place of the aforementioned, most commonly the in non tradition the periodot or citrine are replaced.
