Kólasi, The Silver City
The Silver City as many call it today was once the center of the world. Its inhabitants where far more advanced in building than today's empire can boast. Though the original inhabitants seemed to have been able to get into the city without trouble once, its considered a perilous journey to breach the city or what's left of it.
Those who do succeed though are often considered brave and can gain riches for anything they bring back from the mystical city on high. Though many do not return. If one does achieve such a feat though certain choses are often made easier such as joining the Maiden's of Mayflower or the Knights of Neptrue.
The city itself sports two names its more common nomenclature and the name given to it before the rise of the Mandorian Empire Kólasi so named by a Traveler who passing through the city. Though at the time very few knew the language it was later discovered with the opening of trade routes he called the Silver City hell. After this the name fell out of style as the new more mysterious name rose, it denotes the silver shine that can be seen from the very base mountain the city rests on though tales of the city itself tell that the city itself seems formed of entity wood that is stronger then any other seen and this wood is what shines silver not any actual metal within the Natural Wonder.
One theory posed by a Prince Salimo son of the Mad Queen was that it was the original home of the Fae but without the journal in which he wrote his theories and observations when he was in the city no conclusive proof can be found.
The second theory was founded and became much more polar by a son of the House Incanta though he never visited the city himself he postulated based on the ruins found of previous civilizations all around the world that a cycle happens every couple thousand years in which large civilizations have technological advances at an exponential rate then without much explanation begin a decent that ends with the loss of the knowledge gained and a staggering amount of lives lost as well. The article however was published under a pen name and is thous also considered inconclusive.
No other theories have gained enough traction or enough data to stand against the first and so are not widely accepted.
Though the best description that can be found and about the city was copied from Prince Salimo's notes before they where lost.
"The first day in the city wasn't hard and as I sit down to write this I must confess it has been hard and worth it to see this beauty. I did not know when I set off that I would see things beyond imagining, animals and plants that I have seen no where else, though I am not traveled, these species must be unique. -there is text missing here- wrong in that same way that feels like maybe its because I have just never known the truth of the world I live in. The trees aren't cut into buildings they grew into them but -there is text missing here- earlier today one of the men scaled a tree while running from a animal I honestly can't name because his description of the beast was so erratic as to be unsuitable to repeat. As he climbed higher and higher though the trees that we have come to call the Argentum Pondere Sanctuarii revealed itself to be much more then it seemed. I plan to climb one myself tomorrow and will give a good description then but from what I can tell this means we have entered the fringes of the city -there is text missing here- not shine like I suspect they soon will as we go further but already we find trouble with the plants. We can not tell what they are often and after eating a strange berry the -there is text missing here- had grown more and more ill. The first sign was her fatigue then as the day wore on she began to cough and sweet even as the air grew colder. Her sister is off right now looking for the bark of the Selador Tree we all hope she will find it and it will work to cleanse her sister of what has taken her. Especially -there is text missing here- thought they where Yana berries it has made him quite upset. And as I wonder about this place I admit it frightens me. As all that was familiar is slowly showing itself to be foreign. Though no more than home no more than-" The remaining text from a book about ancient ruins called Before Mandor by Ebinaier Elt Rodnam wherein the Prince's journal was oft quoted though no quotes are left completely in tact after a fire touched the book. As above there are parts missing there someone deliberately seemed to have ruined the text we can infer from the empty places what is missing
Purpose / Function
Before humans built empires the Fae did, though their empire was singular and strange and once upon a time it was called Aries Al'Awal meaning the first gathering. It was also considered their down fall as the Fae strayed farther and farther from their traditions and courts to join the first city in history. It was meant to be a gathering of knowledge and power but soon its purpose faded and only greed was left the averios Fae sought more and more to gain power over each other and nature until one day they didn't. Though no one remembered what happened one day everything Fae in the city left as if some unspoken design had been made.
Denizens
The current residents are purely the animals and plants left behind but once it was home to almost every variation of Fae kind and humans included now it is home to ghosts and the parasitic tree that continues to grow slowly.
Special Properties
The wood is often called Silegiv and many around the world look for wood that shines more because this wood is known as some of the strongest lightest wood in the world and some things can only be made with this material including come bows and to have it is considered a statues simple.
Alterations
The ruins are no more ruins then the day they held countless Fae in their walls though humans have worked to make the city accessible very little of the ruins can be accessed or manipulated without the Fae and so it sits silent and empty but for when human travelers try to take peaches of it home with them. Nature has taken bits and peaches of the city back.
Architecture
The silver city is made of one material a Tree though very few people know this all the trees on the mountain are actually one single tree considered once as an invasive species the tree is usually pretty normal and then for some reason the land shifts but the tree services and it developed a parasitic nature. Fist it find other tries and feeds on their corps until its strong enough to reach the surface every single time the tree kills another it grows stronger and its bark tougher until it can drill through the land there because it no longer had leaves it begins leaching on other trees but as they die it dies until it learns to slowly take over the tree making them a part of itself once it does this the bark of the infected tree begins to harden as well and as time goes on more and more metals build up in the trees on the surface. The Fae kill these trees often when their young so they doesn't spread but every once in a while the fae will instead guide the growth of these trees even making them on purpose though Aries is the largest and most controlled such growth known in the world it probably took hundreds of thousands of years to build if not more.
The center of the city the oldest tree has been made into one of the most outstanding architectural feets in the world, the tree itself is about as large as a Old Tree in the Gaint Forest which can reach into the clouds and be as wide around 15 yard. The tree at the center could hold thousands of people and even a rippling floor the walls are interwoven branches smooth and the smaller branches twirled in many patterns around between and on these begins are rested the only glass in the city some pieces are see though but most aren't they all seemed to have accrued naturally then shaped to fit the areas they rest, the tree is global and water runs from the highest point of the building on the mountain to the lower running through the oringal land the tree grew around it there is a small pond in the middle of the building and living plants hand from the ceiling and grow from some points in the ground where they peak through the tree.
The tree without Fae hands to guide it has since made many strange shapes and some of the old structure have become inaccessible.
History
Aries was originally the court of Razalan a young court of Fae who worshiped the Goddess Triad of Beauty also called the Joyeux it held little power but as time passed the court rose in rebound instead as their art became famous and more and more Fae soon joined the court but unlike at other courts the most powerful did not rule and art was pursued above all until to many fae had gathered to continue in the way they had and multiple courts grew from the first, it began with three one for each of the patron goddesses and the linch pin was the art project in the center of the city where they where guiding a tree into the largest structure in the world that represented all three goddesses but soon more courts developed and fighting began until one court emerged victorious to govern the city and it was named Aries it was many millennia later that a knew species of Fae emerged after the mingling of genes for so long unlike any other time in history and these Fae came to be known as humans. When a couple thousand years later the Fae left the city humans could not use it the same way and so followed quickly after wards and found that without their older sibling race they where defenseless and began building imitations of the city they barley remembered over and over again until they forgot they had ever even loved there at all.
Tourism
Tourism is constricted to adventurers, Seekers, and people who can find guides to take them on the perilous journey, they all try to reach th legendary building in the center but was of the time people don'r make it instead trying to take as much of the wood from the city as they can.
