The Human Variant

Founding

The humans are an offshore of the Fae, as they're more widely called, instead of Mature. The Human Variant is distinctly different from their vast assortment of cousins who fall under name Mature. The key features being their smaller lifespans and inability to share their emotions and thoughts. Humans are the ugly side of the family and a small fraction of the vast Fae people.

The first human was born in Kolasi to Fae parents when her mutation became evident there was distress among the Fae population as to why such a birth defect was possible but besides her children no others seemed to share this defect. Her children weren't all what came to be known as human, in fact none of them where, and the gene was thought to be lost, until two generations later when her grandchild was born with a similar defect.    Since the problem was genetic and uncommon nothing was done but many refused to go near the family, they left Kolasi and started their own home, many flocked there who felt rejected by the courts as they were called.    Humans became more and more common among these smaller communities and actionably in the larger courts if the bloodline lingered. Eventually the bloodline became impossible to track and the brith defect gamed a name and these people where considered second class or even not Fae.    As this mind set grew stronger humans were relegated to the few jobs they could d better then the Fae and where in most sense forgotten.    Because humans couldn't travel like Fae since their lives where short they were mostly isolated to the large continent but eventually they followed the ever migratory Fae out to other land masses though there were no human only settlements.
