Karadian Bestiary - Beyond

Pentagram

Pentagram is a travesty against natural order. An evil and abhorrent power, so alien that even seeing its servants can cause damage to ones mind and sanity. It's four gods - Malice, Discord, Agony and Extinction - are considered chief opponents of pretty much every religious system in the world, easily transcending the borders of Imperial Religion.

Spirits
Spirit of Madness - A levitating ball of whirling blackness, that seems to have some sort of undefined shapes inside. Unlike average Spirits they can be both weak and insanely strong. They seem to be empowered by madness and general evil, infesting some location and then beginning to bend the Reality itself into more twisted and unnatural shapes. Spreading imprint of Pentagram and causing a potentially devastating snowball effect. They can break man's mind twisting him into a madman - without help from any other beings.   Spirit of Pain - A levitating ball of whirling blackness, that seems to have some sort of undefined shapes inside. Unlike average Spirits they can be both weak and insanely strong. They seem to be empowered by pain and general evil, infesting some location and then beginning to bend the Reality itself into more twisted and unnatural shapes. Spreading imprint of Pentagram and causing a potentially devastating snowball effect. Their primary effect is weaker than this of Spirit of Madness, instead it also increases the feeling of pain. Can twist people into insane sadomasochists.   Spirit of Annihilation - A levitating ball of whirling blackness, that seems to have some sort of undefined shapes inside. Unlike average Spirits they can be both weak and insanely strong. They seem to be empowered by destructive behaviour and general evil, infesting some location and then beginning to bend the Reality itself into more twisted and unnatural shapes. Spreading imprint of Pentagram and causing a potentially devastating snowball effect. They can break man's mind twisting him into a self destructive (or simply destructive) maniacs.   Spirit of Discord - A levitating ball of whirling blackness, that seems to have some sort of undefined shapes inside. Unlike average Spirits they can be both weak and insanely strong. They seem to be empowered by discord and general evil, infesting some location and then beginning to bend the Reality itself into more twisted and unnatural shapes. Spreading imprint of Pentagram and causing a potentially devastating snowball effect. They seem to trigger a slowly increasing series of mistakes and arguments that - in many cases - lead to murders or rapes. Slowly changing people into paranoid schizophrenics.   Spirit of Nihilism - A very rarely encountered ball of whirling blackness, that seems to have some sort of undefined shapes inside. Unlike average Spirits they can be both weak and insanely strong. They seem to be empowered by indifferentism, lack of beliefs and cynicism, plus general evil. Infesting some location and then beginning to bend the Reality itself into more twisted and unnatural shapes. Spreading imprint of Pentagram and causing a potentially devastating snowball effect. They seem to cause increasing cynicism, that quickly begins to change into growing apathy, finally leading to practical catatonia.

Daemons
Eldritch Knight - A standard combat unit of Pentagram, used to secure its footholds in Reality. Due to its nature causes rather small sanity damage (they are still there though), but instead focuses more on physical damage. They can be described as knights in black armours, with some black liquid pouring slowly from all gaps in it. They are surrounded by aura that combines freezing cold, terrible stench and destabilization of psyche.   Watcher - Watchers are servile daemons of Pentagram made to resemble humans as much as possible, to guide cults on their early stages. They manifest as grotesque mass of tentacles with a massive eye in the middle or as pale humans (with tentacles instead of hair) with a single, centrally located and slightly too big) eye. Curiously, in their second form they are counted among sexually active daemons, their children (rare case) being Amalthians. They can use Doom Magic. Do not break psyche of those around them, but looking too long in their eye isn't healthy.   Torturer - A servile daemon believed to originate in Agony's domain. A thin but tall humanoid completely covered in black leather and/or rags. It's head seems to have shape of a sack with eyeholes rather than simply wearing it. Plus needles piercing its skin. Use whips or similar, crude and pain-oriented weapons, that they use to slowly bleed enemies to death while they aura (and occasional, inhuman shrieks) break them into a sobbing mess.   Fallen Angel - Shimmer is completely fine when her angels desert to serve other gods of White Pantheon and irittated when they decide to serve those of Black Pantheon. But she is completely furious when they let themselves be overtaken by powers of Pandaemonium. They manifest as surprisingly normal looking people, beautiful but... imperfect in a way. Their wings are pitch black in a way that makes them almost devour light from the area. They are exactly as evil as one can get and use powerful Doom Magic.   Pandaemonium Knight - An empowered variant of Eldritch Knights. Taller, tougher, with their armours covered in blasphemous symbols that can destabilize sanity simply by being seen. They are also partially shapeshifting, meaning their hand can suddenly change into into a long tentacle that can bring fleeing enemy closer. Terrifying foes.   Seeker - A rank up of Watchers that forsake most of their remaining humanity. They manifest as eyes surrounded by a squirming mass of tentacles. Rather than teachers they are infiltrators and assasins, easily capable of hiding their inhumanity by being tightly covered in robe they manipulate from within. Also as powerful magical support of the forces of Pandaemonium. Hard to kill.   Skinwalker - A tall shapeshifting beast. In its natural form it has a body of man (or woman) with blackness instead of head. But they can impersonate everything they kill. It is possible, however, that its supposed natural form isn't truly natural, but all attempts to discover the truth end with hard reset of mind and big hole in memories. They are expert manipulators, sowing shamanistic cults dedicated to Pandaemonium. They operate alone, spreading evil simply due to their internal malevolence.   Bringer of Discord - A daemon supposedly dedicated to Discord. Shapeshifter with no defined real form. Their changes are slow, meaning that they are often bound to a single form for long. In it, they spread discord. They are expert manipulators. A single Bringer of Discord can lead entire, several thousand people strong expedition against Pandaemonium's foothold to its early demise. It's members slaughtering each other due to sins and faults Bringer talked into them.   Banner of Madness - A modification of Pandaemonium Knight, with defense-oriented equipment (pavise and sword in most cases) and a banner above their head. With symbol of Pandaemonium. It works as a potent imprint relay, empowering Doom Magic in the area and allowing Pandaemonium daemons to breach the wall into Reality. They also make sanity rending effects stronger.   Eviscerator - A tall but thin being of ambiguous gender, wearing bloodied rags (and some sort of half cap half head sack with holes). Surrounded by aura that powers up pain while keeping people alive no matter the ammount of damage they received. They use heavy, metal gloves with many sharp edges, to literally shred people into still living, thinking and feeling pain parts. Terrifying being.   Fallen Archangel - Shimmer is completely fine when her archangels desert to serve other gods of White Pantheon and irittated when they decide to serve those of Black Pantheon. Dreadnought - An even taller vesion of Pandaemonium Knight. With even more blasphemous symbols, more power, more strenght and even more powerful aura of cold, stench and madness. Thankfully they are rather rare to visit Real World, but when they actually do that, only a few beings can match their sheer unholy strength.   Death Eye - A more powerful version of Watchers and Seekers. A levitating eye surrounded by mass of squirming tentacles. Smells disgusting, uses powerful Doom Magic, looking at the eye itself causes damage to sanity and debilitating debuffs. Very intelligent. They often end up ruling over smaller Pandaemonium-controlled civilization in the depths of Labirynt.   Terror - A tall but very thin and faceless person. They roam wastelands of Real World, targeting far away villages and kidnapping a single inhabitants, that eithers disappears forever or is found years ago. With look on the face (if he still has it) being a stuff of nightmares. They are also known for short range teleportation and limites phaseshift through solid matter.   Banner of Doom - Ensign of Pandaemonium. Pandaemonium Knight with a defensive oriented equipment and a banner above his head that works as mobile imprint relay. Makes the enemy receive more sanity damage, buffs Doom Magic and creatures of Pandaemonium, but also converts other feelings to pain, causes growing discord, destructive behaviour and cynism +apathy.   Executioner - A power up to Eviscerator. Bigger and tougher, with its head strung on its chest and two handed axes as a weapon of choice. They actually stabilize sanity of nearby opponents... but instead it is said that everything they kill goes to Pandaemonium, to be tortured endlessly. Making its enemies run in terror or commit suicide while being completely sane.   Scorn - A fusion between Bringer of Discord and Pandaemonium Knight. A malformed humanoid that moves in a swift but unnatural way, with sword filled with power of Pandaemonium and surrounded by aura that not only damages sanity but also causes increasing troubles with coordination and internal strife between its oponnents. Surprisingly troublesome.   Doom Eye - Apex of watchers line. Levitating eye surrounded by mass of squirming tentacles. Capable of using even strongest Doom Magic, can cause debuffs by looking at you (you don't have to look back, but if you do, you are going to lose sanity fast) and is surprisingly resilient. Can also pull a short range teleportation and are always surrounded by armies of mindbroken servants.   Annihilator - Few meter long beast that looks like it is an effect of a squid raping wolf. Its face is much wider than it should and there is literal nothing on the other side. Everything it devours ceases to exist, and it devours things permanently. Even air. Even space itself (though it regenerates). It can also temporarily open more mouths in its body, can cause vacuum that then pulls things to its mouths and is generally a pain in the ass.   Transcendent Terror - A fear made material. Supposedly a Terror that sheded its outward parts, becoming a being of sheer terror. With its exact looks unknown, for they are so terrifying that they made mortal minds snap and forget it, just to prevent mental damage.   Abyssal Lord - Supposedly a deity that went insane. Clad in black armour covered in blasphemous symbolism, with wide array of weapons and powerful Doom Magic. Most of them operates in depths of Labirynth, some from Pandaemonium. Few were brought by Synkardians from the Rifts, but they were slain and bound by elven deities during Synkardian War.   Banner of End - An apex of support line. Abyssal Lord with massive banner overhead that bears signs of Pandaemonium. Increased sanity damage, buffs to Doom Magic and creatures of Pandaemonium, also sows discord, causes growing pain and autodestructive/destructive behaviour and apathy.

The Dead
Eldritch Madman - A shrieking and foaming remnant of once mortal cultist of Pentagram. Insane reminder of the power of corruption. Rarely granted to sects (it would remind them of their fate post mortem) but often used as cannofodder during Pandaemonium incursions into Real World.   Rift Marine - Supposedly a remain of a synkardian, following their genocide at the hands of Alvaenan elves. A humanoid that looks like a crossbreed between human, squid and fish. With moist and soft skin and tentacle hair. Can breath underwater (often use that to ambush enemies), wearing leather armour and using spears, harpoons and other weapons. Doesn't cause sanity damage.   Rift Mentalist - Supposedly a remain of a synkardian, following their genocide at the hands of Alvaenan elves. A humanoid that looks like a crossbreed between human, squid and fish. With moist and soft skin and tentacle hair. Can breath underwater (often use that to ambush enemies), wears a 'coat' from human skin and uses staff from human bone. Cause negligible sanity damage via some spells, but not directly. Uses mind magic with a bit of doom magic.   Abyssal Warrior - Supposedly a remain of a goblin from the lowest layers of Labirynth. Look like hangoblins but are noticably taller. Leather armours, wide array of weaponry. Individually rather weak, but when used in numbers... and they also see well in darkness. Can be a serious problems when underestimated. Doesn't cause sanity damage.   Abyssal Hexcaster - Supposedly a remain of a goblin from the lowest layers of Labirynth. Look like hangoblins but are noticably taller. Wear a robe of human skin, that doesn't cover all marks suggesting self mutilations. Uses staffs that end with beating human heart. Good at causing pain at distance and debuffing enemies.   Starborn Crystallite - A slightly humanoid looking collection of crystals that seems to be hovering above ground. As all Dead connected to Extinction nobody has any ideas where did they come from, but considering that her domain are stars... They use spatial magic and have a crystal like weaponry (mostly spears) that they use to self defense. Causes sanity damage.   Starborn Voidbearer - A humanoid looking... being, that seems to exist in a state of a constant near absolute zero temperatures. It is advisable to kill it from distance to avoid being frozen to death when it violently explodes in cloud of freezing air. Uses spatial magic and Doom Magic, and can shift through solid matter. Dangerous. Causes sanity damage.   Eldritch Screamer - A level up of 'simple' Eldritch Madman. Screamers are created when a Madman has even less luck that average. Now, filled with needles and other things supposed to cause them crippling pain, they march forward shouting incoherent words that seem to always be very disturbing, even without understanding their contents. They follow Madmen, working to damage enemy sanity.   Rift Guard - Rift Guards are like Rift Marines... only properly geared up for war. In light metal armours and better weapons. Supposedly they are what remains of former synkardian warrior caste, genocided to the last one by elves following the Synkardian Wars. They do not cause sanity damage, but are pretty relentless and can serve as good meatshields for the casters.   Rift Mindbreaker - Rift Mindbreakers are supposedly what remains of a synkardian caste of magicians. They were - every single one - an experts in torturing and breaking minds of their enemies, simply for fun and enjoyment. They always fight surrounded by their broken 'pets' that they can sacrifice to power up their magic for a while. They use quite powerful mind magic and doom magic. Indirectly damage sanity.   Siren - Sirens are a curiosity. Noone ever saw anything remotely similar in the Imperium, so noone knows where they come from. Tall, eyeless humanoids with soft, pale, slightly moist and squishy skin. Mostly female looking in build. They do not wear anything, remaining naked all the time. They do not fight in melee, instead sing terrifying, eldritch songs. That can cause sanity damage, debuff enemies or even charm them for a while.   Abyssal Knight - Beings that look as if they once were hobgoblin. Now? They are insane and violent beings, clad in metal and using a wide array of weapons. Wild fighters, surprisingly resilient but far from being disciplined. They are good in preventing enemies from reaching casters, but not much on their own.   Abyssal Deathbringer - Beings that look as if they once were hobgoblin. Now? They are insane and violent beings, clad in human skin and using staffs that end with still beating hards. They are very good in debuffing enemies, can also cause some sanity - and physical - damage. A problem, especially when they are knights and other abyssal to guard them.   Starborn Aberration - Something. That's the best way to describe them. They are like a fusion between crystallites and voidbearers. A humanoid with crystal core and fleshy outwards that are, however, freezing cold (temperature close to absolute zero). Its crystal insides seem to resonate some sound that is unnatural enough to cause sanity damage (especially strong with every damage it receives) and debuff heavily. Extremely dangerous.   Eldritch Shrieker - Shriekers are like Screamer... only worse. With every step they are tortured by needles (and other things) tightly packed into their bodies, while magical effect typical to Agony strenghtens their pain. Sounds they make are truly inhuman and filled with enough power of Pandaemonium (that also gives them their unnatural resillience) to cause sanity damage.   Abyssal Dreadnought - Armor clad being that was once a horgoblin from the deepest layers of Labirynth. Tall, tough and bulky, armed with some two-handed weaponry and used as shocktroopers. Does not cause sanity damage, but they are still not something that can be taken lightly.   Elder Siren - Elder Siren seem to once be a higher caste of society of their species (wherever it thrives). Tall, naked females that look a bit like their mother was raped by a squid. They are differentiated from normal sirens with they bone 'jewelery' and crown, plus a staff from something that resembles rather weird wood. Their songs are much stronger and more unnatural and they can use potent Doom Magic.   Rift Enslaver - A sad remainder of synkardian leadership caste. Powerful mental debuffs and effects, 'jewelery' from human bone (staff from the same material), wear human skin. Use mind magic and doom magic, making them capable of causing indirect sanity damage. In short - powerfull and deviously smart enemies.   Starthing - Thing. From the stars. Towering monstrosity of freezing cold and resonant crystals, made to resemble angels (a clear mockery of Malice sister, Shimmer, creations). They hover over ground, surrounded by lesser creatures of Extinction, causing sanity damage simply by standing there, using powerful spatial magic and generaly being a major pain in the ass.
