Blood Ducks
Blood ducks1 are a commonly found in the jungles of southwestern Laxilþía, between the Katark Mountains to the north and the Kalis Swamp to the south, particularly the southern part of the region.

They first tamed thousands of years ago by early inhabitants of southwestern Laxilþía, and are among the oldest domesticated animals on the continent, along with geese, goats and pigs.

Body Tint, Colouring and Marking
Like most ducks, the male is generally more colourful than the female, with mostly red back and wings, olive green belly and head, white spot on each side of its neck and blue-green tufts on the head.
The female has similar pattern in duller green and rust red colours, and has a small crest at the back of its head, while ducklings are covered in light brown down.
Both male and female blood ducks have a white stripe on their otherwise grey beaks.
