STATIC 9: The Gold Earring'd Cabin
General Summary
Wherein the Blinkertons investigate a ruined cabin and discover a potent clue
Chroniclers note: For unknown reasons, the historical record of this particular chapter of The Interdimensional Blinkerton Detective Agency narrative is incomplete. Efforts to reconstruct the catalog have revealed the following:
Deeper in with the Cutters
The material documenting the events that led to the Blinkertons taking their leave of The Cutters is sparse, but it is known that they further ingratiated themselves with the organization. Sharkbait seems to have serenaded the Cutters and created a lively song about the gold earring'd one. Corinna Himmelswander conversed with Ansgar Kornflow, her fellow Cutter from Gatt. At some point, it became clear to those in the Cutters that the Blinkertons were here for reasons outside of their organization, and they pointed them toward a remote cabin that was thought to be the domicile of the one they seek. They also mentioned that they would be welcome if their path ever led back to Rhama's Lot.The Cabin and Back to New Carydam
It became apparent when approaching the last known whereabouts of the gold earring'd one that something was amiss with these lodgings. They had been ransacked. Picking over the rubble revealed a few things to the Blinkertons. First, the people that flipped this cabin missed a few things. Namely, a letter addressed to a brother from a sister. It suggest that, should the recipient want to find the sender, they should seek out the outpost of the Servants of the Sad Star in New Carydam. A solid clue! Second, a blank piece of paper seemed to have particular importance for Nero Rubicant. It called to him--perhaps it is connected to his tattoo? Third, the plunderers were still in the area. This was discovered as they descended on our heroes and combat commenced. After the fight finished, Corinna discovered that these attackers were rival agents of The Concern. Perhaps they were hunting the same person? Dangerous! All that remained was to venture back to New Carydam and seek out the Servant outpost. They did so and were greeted by a bespectacled gnome named Salwar Sparklepitch. He informed them that the "Limm" they seek is probably Svonalimm, a relatively recent addition to the Servants, and that she has been dispatched to Froggmorden, a marshy hamlet along Sleeper's Notch. To get there, they'll need to journey to Crackeel Landing and find someone to guide them to the remote settlement. So, the Blinkertons decided to do just that. And That's Where We Left It
We'll see what awaits the Blinkertons as they travel to Froggmorden during our next session.Varied & Sundry Details
