The Masked God

The Adastrican god of Death is depicted as a robed and hooded figure wearing a pale mask. There are ample indications that this god predates Adastrica, and even today this god is still invoked by many people whose primary faith lies elsewhere.   The Masked God has no edicts, other than to remind us that all things die.   There are still funerary societies in The Island Kingdoms and The Colonial Lands that work under the auspices of the Masked God. They are responsible for interring the dead and maintaining the cemeteries, and are the closest thing this god has to a priesthood.   Though such practices are currently outlawed by the Caliph of Shekem, there was at one time an organized priesthood to the Masked God among the peoples of the Phar desert. The ruins of their temples can still be found in out of the way places, and the ancient tombs of that land are inscribed with the Masked God's symbols and prayers.
