Nature's Revelation
History
The ritual of Nature's Revelation is a rite that goes back all the way to introduction of the first Elven settlers that sailed from the Lunaerian Tundra to the tropical lands of Calathis with the native Tritons, Tortle, and Lizardfolk. Overtime, the Elven belief of spiritual reincartion mingled with the existing spiritual and religious beliefs of the native Calathians mingled together, leading to many of the modern day traditions found in Calathis today.
Ever since the colonization of Calathis by the Kenerese, the practice has been persecuted by many of the Kenerese colonists, leading to the practice falling out of favor in favor of more standard Kenerese practices.

Execution
When a Calathian dies, they are burned along with offerings to the goddess Mea'kanu in the belief that she will incorporate that soul's memories into herself before returning the now-empty soul to the body of the next-born child in the tribe, so that the soul will be able to live a whole new life full of new experiences.
When a Calathian child comes of age, they undergo the ritual of Nature's Revelation, where they decide whether they wish to keep the name given to them from the previous soul, or take a new name that they deem more fitting for their life experience, and a name that will be passed on to the first Calathian child born after their memories join Mea'kanu's infinite consciousness. This ceremony is also where they choose which aspect of Mea'kanu they believe represents their life and their emotional journey, with help from the close members of their family and their tribe.
