Arxians

The Arxians were a Continental people who inhabited northern Tira Vella, the Gyaros islands, and the southern coast of Sossis and spoke the Arxian language. The Arxians established a series of dynasties that ruled an empire along northern Tira Vella and at various times regions across the Gyaros Strait. It's thought the Arxians originated somewhere in the mountainous region of Heprous in northwest Tira Vella, and who would eventually grow to occupy much of Gold Coast and Gyaros Islands, replacing the previous Karanesians. Eventually the Tira Vellans, a people who arrived from The Grey would displace them from their ancestral homelands in northwest Tira Vella, before conquering the Tira Vellans under the Arxian Empire. In 548, the Tira Vellan region of Boeupseia rebelled against the empire, followed by other Tira Vellans, and the empire lost half of its territory. In 1068, the last remnant of the Arxian Empire would be conquered by Polemos the Great, and the last remaining Arxians would be brought under Tira Vellan rule. Over the next few centuries Arxian language and culture faded away and dissolved into Tira Vellan.   The Arxians were the first literate society in Tira Vella, importing writing from their contact with Sossis.
