Orthography

Arxian was written using the Arxian alphabet, a development of the Horil alphabet. Unlike the Horil alphabet, Arxian used letters for vowel sounds. It's unknown if this was an isolated development by the Arxians, or if this was inspired by their contact with the Duekmen, as their Margianic alphabet also had symbols for vowels. Like other alphabets of the time, Arxian was only majuscule, and word breaks were done either with a space or dots (:).

The long "e" and "o" sounds arose from the coalescence of earlier "ai" and "au" diphthongs inherited from Proto-Arxo-Davanian.
Short "Α" was only written at the beginning of a word, elsewise it was left unwritten. "Η" was written inconsistently.
