The Narrows

The Narrows is a narrow land bridge that connects the continents of Sossis and Eussis. Splitting the warm Narrows Sea fed by subtropical waters from the south and the frigid North Sea fed by cold polar waters, the area sees frequent storms and turbulent waters. At its narrowest point, it spans about 80 kilometres.   In 2801 construction of the Cintra Canal was completed as a joint venture between Taminily and the Holy Enzimian Empire, creating a maritime route between the North Sea and the Gulf of Cintra, allowing ships to exit the North Sea in much warmer waters than the more dangerous Gelden Strait, which is generally only navigable half the year.
