Manfred Schlauger

A garrulous 17-year old from the Kingdom of the Mengi, Manfred was born to Sigfried and Berta. He lived on their farm with his siblings Otto, Karl and Hildegard. While still quite young, he showed promise, and was sent to study. His schooling was paid for by an aunt named *Idonia Berkhead, whom he met once or twice as a boy.
After completing his studies at only 17, he returned home, and returned to a farming life. Yet soon, he was brought a letter from Idonia's solicitor, which informed him that his aunt had died, that he was his aunt's next of kin, and that she was the owner of a mansion in Gethen, which had now passed to him.
With that, Manfred boarded the Kestrel, bound for Saltmarsh in the New World.
