River Life
The River Life is the longest flowing river in the region the Burning Sea. It floods regularly, depositing fertile soil along its banks, making fertile gound for growing and raising crops.
Ecosystem Cycles
The River Life floods every year, typically by the 3rd month, lasting up to 6 weeks. After this, the water slowly goes down to it lowest point, around 12 months. Then it repeats.
Localized Phenomena
With the regular flooding of the river comes mating cycles of many animals that rely on the water for sustenance. In years where the floods come late, in fact, there will be a shortage of young for those animals, and thus, a shortage of game for predators, which often leads to predators making their way closer to civilizations.
