Merfolk

Merfolk are a type of Fae found commonly in coastal areas across the world, where they dwell on beaches and live by hunting fish and sea creatures. They can range from good to evil, and tend to take advantage of gullibility. Merfolk are known for their beautiful voices, which allow them to manipulate humans and other beings alike. A school of merfolk is a dangerous thing and they have been known to strategically take down entire warships if properly organized. They are, however, rather xenophobic creatures--even among their own--and subspecies of merfolk rarely get along with each other.
