This skill can earn a character a weekly wage as a wage slave. You get paid to start 500 credits a week. To find a job you need to make a Gather Info check of DC 10+ maintain employment DC + number of weeks looking. The DC can assign minus or plus based on where you are looking or the state of the economy. Once you find a job you get your weekly pay. Now if you want to go up in the job you have to earn a promotion so after 1st week you first make the maintain employment roll, then after 4 weeks may earn a promotion.
Roll Earned promotion DC and if pass the next month you are promoted. You have to make 4 more maintain employment rolls to get to a new level.
Once you get one promotion you can continue to move up the ladder. Each one takes double the time in the job so 4 weeks then 8 weeks then 16 weeks.
Failure to Maintain Employment
If you fail the check, you lose that week's pay and you make another check same DC. if you fail 2nd check you get demoted and make 3rd check. If fail 3rd check you are fired. If you pass the 2nd you keep a job and just lose the week's money, if you make the 3rd check you are demoted but keep your job( and lose the week's pay).
If in a current career, you do not use Earn Promotion but the career promotion rolls
If you are in a Current Career, you have to check every month to Maintain Employment with DC below. Your pay month(so x4 below) is the same plus the bonus from Career or any other bonuses it gives you. Remember you don't get the full salary as you have to pay taxes. See
