THREADING If you ask different technomancers how they perform the Matrix miracles they do, they’ll tell you it’s called threading, but they won’t agree on how it works. For some, it’s a mental exercise. Others just ask the Matrix nicely to do what they want. However it's done, it gets the job done.

They use their spells and the matrix reads the magic in a way that allows them to do things. Like spells, you have to learn the complex forms. When you thread a complex form, you choose a Level for the effect. The higher the Level, the stronger the effect, but also the more risky it is to do. You have to use a spell slot that is equal to the level of effect you want. Any level effect higher than what you pay causes you to suffer fade. You can use up to double your max level spell when choosing the level. See complex forms‌
