Queendom of Omrik

The Bulo like to think that they are the last remnants of the Rhussom Empire - it was the Omriccan people who made it what it was. We are their alst bastion.

The Queendom of Omrik, commonly referred to as Omrik, is a nation that comprises most of the areas of Omrik, including the mountain ranges to the north and the foothills to the south. It borders Alrik to the west, Duran to the southwest, and Bul to the south.

History

Originally part of the Rhussom Empire, the Omriccans that inhabited the southern part of Omrik were enfolded into the empire and tasked with assisting its expansion. Their wars in the Duranese and the Arkalli have created long standing relationships between the peoples.   When the Rhussom Empire collapsed, Omrik was originally the North Rhussom Empire until its consolidation into the Queendom of Omrik. It still holds itself in high esteem, believing that it is the true continuation of the Rhussom Empire.

Military

The Omriccan military has grown advanced, making use of gun landships and cannons in their warfare. Most of their warfare had taken place in deserts and arid grassland and they cater towards large-area attacks rather than a refined military force. This means their strength comes from their artillery, their large-scale weaponry, their fortiments, and gunpowder making a prominent appearance. Individual training therefore is lacking versus other military powers, and their organisation stems from individual locations rather than a full centralised force.

Religion

Omrik has historically been populated by the Omriccans who worshipped the Dragonmother. This developed into the modern Drakarism, the belief system built around the children of the Dragonmother, the Drakar, and their association with nature. There are multiple Helges around Omrik that cater to the lifestyle taught by Drakarism.

Foreign Relations

The Queendom of Omrik is currently in an unstable period of truce between itself and the Kingdom of Alrik. There have been numerous wars between Alrik and Omrik, with neither nation ever truly believing their war is ended. This is due to the Arkalli people's belief that Sofea is their home and the Omriccans unrightfully took it from them when expanding for the Rhussom Empire, and have since occupied it unlawfully.   Omrik is in a loose alliance with the Kingdom of Rhustall - their shared history gives them reason to remain allied, but there remains tension when both sides believe themselves to be the continuation of their imperial predecessor.   The Commune of Duran is at peace with Omrik with no current problems between the two nations. However, their respective opinions to the Duranese leaves them tense.   Omrik hasn't opened any official channels with the nations of Olivia - due to their beliefs of the Drakar, the news of the death of a dragon puts a damp on possible negotiations with Dymercia or Migoldrakon, but they aren't willing to start a war over it.

Agriculture & Industry

A large amount of Omrik's agriculture comes from the southern foothills of Omrik that prove far more fertile for grain and vegetable growth than the northern part. The Northern mountain range does give rise to good land for sheep and goats, and its forests bear fruit, but the scarcity of viable land and therefore high value of it means that the north requires support from the south, even though the north is far richer.

Trade & Transport

Omrik survives on using routes through the Omriccan Desert to send and receive trade from the south and east. It tries to utilise trade through Khem's Wound as well, but this pales in comparison to desert trade.

Education

Education in Omrik is mainly handled by the Helges that manage community schools where citizens can receive a basic education. This education is not mandatory and often only adopted by those that wish for a rounded education - otherwise basic life skills and trades are taught by family, and by common trade master-apprentice systems.
