Orange Shrieking Kimian
The Orange Shrieking Kimian are carnivorous creatures that are considered to be pests by most adventurers who would explore the Makura Wilds . This is mainly due to the loud shrieks that the kimian make to alert each other of danger or of prey.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Kimians are strange creatures with three eyes, with a furry tail off it's head, gaping maws of fangs, and leathery scaly skin. They are bipedal and rather terrifying to behold mid shriek. Their clawed hands are made for climbing almost any surface with tails made for gripping onto things and helping them launch from tree to tree.
Genetics and Reproduction
Kimians give birth to one offspring at a time, their gestation period lasting roughly 180 days. Mating season happens in spring and they only give birth every few years as they typically wait for their offspring to mature before they have another.
Growth Rate & Stages
They take roughly 5-9 years to mature and live to be roughly 30 years old. After birth they tend to spend the first year of life nursing and clinging to their mothers, after which they enter the juvenile period that lasts anywhere from 2 years to 8 years before reaching adulthood.
Ecology and Habitats
Their ideal habitat is the Makura Wilds due to the heavy vegitation and the abundance of food they can find as well as the warm and humid nature of the area.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Despite their apperances the kimian is an omnivorous creature subsiting on small prey such as birds, bugs, and rodents as well as wild berries and fruits.
Behaviour
While they tend to strike fear in the hearts of the unaware and their apperance is often described as terrfiying they are actually rather peaceful creatures unless scared. Their terrfying shrieks serving only as a long distance alert system and to scare off predators that would otherwise hunt them.
