Makura Wilds

The Makura wilds are a region of lush thick rainforest in Rekea. Both beautiful and treacherous, the temperatures, flora and fauna are known to be deadly to the unprepared. Colorful plants and trees make it hard to see small dangers such as the Flame-Crested Drake and the heavy brush offers excellent camouflage to predators.

Geography

The Makura wilds is known as a thick lush forest that can be hard to navigate due to the near complete brush cover and the thick cosps of trees. The canopy is upwards of 75 feet over head. The Foilage is bright and colorful making some of the creatures that inhabit it hard to notice.

Climate

Winter is quite long and wet, and the other summer is short, dry, and foggy. Throughout the long wet season, the temperature hardly falls below freezing point, which is 0°C and 32°F. Throughout the short, dry, and foggy season, the temperature hardly exceeds 27°C or 80°F.   The average temperature overall is around 18-27C (64-80F). Though the temperature varies depending on the time of year as well as the location. The annual rainfall averages between 1,600 and 2,400 mm (60-100 in). The amount of rainfall also depends on location.

Fauna & Flora

Notable creatures inclue the Orange Shrieking Kimian, the Jade-Tailed Oncilla, and the Dusk Edrit.   The flora is made up a myriad of strange and colorful species as well as some of the tallest strudiest trees in Glenerene. Many expeditions have been mounted just to study the strange flora and their properties.

Tourism

The only people who visit this area are those seeking to hunt on Reakea and those who are part of official expidtions for the Adventurer's Guild.
