History

Halflings where made in 34wr, by the Halfling Goddess Yondalla. She made them as a friendly species in the world rife horrible and evil monsters. She made them to greet the world with a smile on their face. Similar to the race, their history is relatively unremarkable. With a few small events, like Ogre fighting, and the great Halfling-Green Dragon war in 1436wr, they have done very little in their history. During the Calamity event, most would hole up in their homes and such to try to survive. They typically did, because Halflings where not as meaty or as good hosts as Humans to the Slaad. Afterwords, they would help with relief for everyone. When the split between Drandar and Uneror happened, most Halflings went to Drandar.   The Ghostwise Halflings are found in the Islands of Julra. They and the Khenra Humans didn't get along with each other, as the Humans would constantly expand into their territory, until in 1800wr, when a large surge of necrotic energy had caused the last remaining Ghostwise tribes into hiding onto different islands. Before the necrotic explosion, the fruit that grew in the Ghostwise homelands had given them an ability to speak telepathically with others. Most of this fruit was destroyed, however, and it can only be grown by either the wild, or by Ghostwise Shaman.   The Stoutheart Halflings are found in the Continent of Godsen. They where solitary and stationary, with many permanent villages strewn through the continent, and a few outside, though they are willing to accept any and all as visitors. In 1000wr, several Stoutheart villages where being destroyed by a warband of Gnolls. With aid from the dwarves of Da Ithrun clan, most of the Stoutheart tribes had stood together against the warband. After the conflict, many Stouthearts where displaced, with many being forced to join other tribes, or live amongst the Humans, Elves, or Dwarves.   The Lightfoot Halflings of the Continent of Ovak, being more nomadic than their Stoutheart brethren. Despite the travel, Lightfoots often avoided trouble, usually getting out of town before something bad happens. However, in 782wr,

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

Halflings try to befriend all races, and have. Most races have good race relations with halflings, with the exception being monstrous races, who have negative race relations. Ghostwise halflings, however, have negative race relations with all races, due to their xenophobic mindset.   Gnomes and Halflings tend to be easily made friends, usually because they have similar senses of humour, although Halflings are more on Jokes while Gnomes are more on Pranks.   Halflings HATE ogres. Ogres eat halflings all the time, and so are usually warded away from Halfling Villages. Halflings even have Games dedicated to messing with Ogres, usually with Magic or trickery. They are distrusting of Van Ogres, but not to the extent of regular ones.   Because of their Taboos, Halflings see Illithids as truly abhorrent monsters.
