Pagacha’roon
"It will be slow, but I think we can make it," Jenta began, staring out over the thick marshland. Basr placed his hand gently on her arm, drawing an irritated glance. His eyes were filled with fear, his lips silently forming a single word: "Look" as he motioned slowly with his head. Jenta strained her eyes in the darkness, at first seeing nothing. Her mouth opened, no doubt to hurl yet another insult his way when the slightest of movement caught her eye. That's when she saw it: The slow rise and fall of the chest of a massive lizard-like creature barely visible above the surface of the water. It's eyes were closed - sleeping - for the moment. "What is that," she questioned, stepping back from the edge of the water.
History
The Imperials had always thought of and treated the mahnkii lizard-people as dull and dim-witted. However two years into the Great War they would demonstrate to the realm just how much they had been underestimated with a glimpse into their horrifying ingenuity, innovation, and imagination. After the kynekin armies took the Library at Stoverj, the mahnkii seized upon the treasure trove knowledge there (that which was left undamaged by the war). Within those halls they discovered the Imperial secrets of breeding creatures augmented by the flow and power of magic. In the deep marshes of the Karnwood Forest they experimented on the denizens of that biome. One of their many successful creations brought to life a most terrible and terrifying breed of beast they call the "Pagacha'roon." While carefully controlled and contained, moved from one battlefield to the next during the Great War, a small number of Pagacha'roon allegedly broke free from their cages. Now, it is unclear exactly how many there are, or how far they have roamed, though they have been sighted as far east as the Synagrav Peninsula.Description
The Pagacha'roon are massive lizard-like beasts standing taller than two men. They were bred and augmented for one purpose: war. Their naturally thick-armored skin bears sharp bone-spurs, dissuading direct engagement by their opponents. They fight with a mindless, animalistic ferocity, and are capable of understanding only the most basic single-word verbal commands from their mahnkii handlers, such as Stay, Come, and Kill.Pagacha'roon
