At twelve years of age, Dominic joins the thieves guild consisting of street urchins. This guild had the name "The Alley Rats."

The alley rats was far from a cohesive guild. It was probably not even considered to be a guild at the time it was still around. But historians have noted this "organization" down as a guild, to make it easier for them to keep track of historical events.   Records show that Dominic Longbarrel was twelve years of age when he started to run with The Alley Rats. From what we can see in old guard records, they were more considered a nuisance than an actual threat to Absalom.   The children would pickpocket nobles, break-in to their hotel rooms and take their belongings, sometimes they'd just steal their food.   It is very well documented that the guild did not seek out violence and did not ever rob people who were in need of money. However, history has a tendency of glorifying anything, even a group of thieves.
