Aldern Foxglove

At first glance, the average spectator would see Aldern as a typical nobleman. He dresses in fashionable clothing and keeps himself well groomed, and seems quite sociable. But those who know him a bit better would get the impression that it's not all quite that simple, that perhaps he's pushing himself or compensating for something.
Aldern was at The Swallowtail Festival on the day of the goblin attack. In the midst of the fighting, he was attacked by goblins, who killed his dog, and no doubt would've killed him as well if not for the group of heroes that came to his rescue. He thanked his rescuers profusely, and befriended Lawson Raktallow, who was among them. In addition to this, he appeared to have been quite smitten with Visijya Vishki, who was also one of his rescuers. In the aftermath of the battle, he led his hero to The Rusty Dragon where he paid for their rooms, and he promised a further reward when next they met.   The next evening, Aldern was found again at The Rusty Dragon, enjoying a meal. There, he provided his rescuers with a bag of 50 gold coins, and made them a further offer.   "Come hunting boars with me in The Tickwood," he said, "and I will give you an additional 25 gold coins!" In particular, Aldern was interested in having Visijya along for the trip, which might suggest some ulterior motive. As the party that rescued him had some spare time the following morning, they ultimately agreed.   The boar hunt went largely without incident, but unfortunately for Aldern, Visijya was averse to hunting, and decided to go off harvesting herbs on her own. Aldern, for his part, was clearly disheartened by this turn of events, but carried on with the hunt with the rest of the group regardless. After the hunt, Aldern brought their quarry back to The Rusty Dragon to have it cooked for dinner, but he was curiously absent that night when the boar was served.
