Arcanis Library Main Archive
Purpose / Function
The Arcanis Library serves as a collective archive of most if not all magical research done in Mimir with all information being directed to and located at the Main Archive, working in conjunction with the Institute of Magical Learning many researchers share findings or working for one place or the other. The Library was founded after many arcane researchers wished to devote full focus to their topics of research while others simply wished to teach the schools of magic to the eager spellcasters of the realm thus leading to the Arcanis Library and the Institute of Magical Learning being split into separate locations.
Design
The main area of the Arcanis Library is built in a half-circle with most of the floor space being taken up with rows of bookshelves and displays. built with wood and stone the interior of the Library made efforts to create a comfortable space for the researchers who spend many hours working there.
Entries
With various wings and restrictive areas, the main floor of the library connects to all of these areas through arches denoting the areas' focus of research with more restrictive areas being warded or closed off from visitors to the library.
Sensory & Appearance
There are various hanging lanterns and flames throughout both the main floor of the library and the various wings providing soft lighting. Part of the roof of the library is a large glass dome that serves both as a form of lighting and decoration.
Denizens
Chester Borne works as a clerk and receptionist in the library and is one of the more familiar faces see at the Main Archive
Contents & Furnishings
Various books and magical scrolls can be found on the bookshelves with some of the glass displays containing artifacts or minor magical items being researched. There are also desks scattered around
Valuables
Most of the artifacts and magical items being studied at the library have value and many of the books and research contained within the walls is unique and priceless.
Special Properties
The glass dome that is part of the roof is enchanted to always show the daytime which adds to the timeless feel inside the library.
