Immortal Jade Emperor
Appointment
To fully ascend to the position of the emperor the person who hopes to ascend must pass the trial of the Dragon's Blood in which the person must bathe in the blood of the Gold Dragon rising the next day a gold half-dragon proving their right to be emperor.
Cultural Significance
The title of the emperor in the Jade Empire is seen as not many rulers with the same title but rather the continual rebirth of the "Immortal Emperor" and that through the trial of the Dragon's Blood the rulers of the past are merged with the new emperor into the "Immortal Emperor". Should the person not rise a half-dragon or be something other than a gold half-dragon the trial is considered failed and the person has no right to the title of emperor and is seen as an omen of misfortune.
