Nephite Empire (Nef-ah-tight, Em-pai-ur)

Structure

In the Nephite Empire, the Emperor is considered the highest authority within the borders of the empire. With advisors overseeing specific tasks, major decisions are made by the Emperor alone

Culture

Instead of investing its interests in war or spreading its borders, the Nephite Empire has never shown interest in expanding past its existing borders and directs its interests towards developing the arts and unique culture found there. Placing the arts and cultural development as one of if not the most important aspects of the empires' future ventures from the many festivals and traditional practices the culture of the Nephite Empire is deeply entwined in the history of the empire and its' people.

Assets

The biggest export of the empire is the large number of beautiful art pieces made from the jade mined from the veins that run commonly through the mountains within the empire's borders. The Nephite Empire is also a prime travel spot for artists and performers hoping to either make a name for themselves or learn from the traditional arts practiced there.

History

Once a small poor kingdom the Nephite Empire was only a single city on the southernmost tip of the Dawmorn Continent however when a powerful being arrived in the city and showed the King the beautiful jade that lay in the mountains to the north the once poor kingdom suddenly exploded growing seemingly overnight. Moving the capital north closer to the mountains that founded the now great empire the now dubbed Nephite Empire settled down in the shade of the Jade Scale Peaks and began to grow as a people.

Territories

The majority of the territory of the Nephite Empire is the Jade Scale Peaks with a major part of the commerce in the empire surrounding the jade mined in the mountains the empire controls the entire territory that the peaks fall within. The empire also controls southward down to the ancestral home of the former capital where the empire was once a single city along the coast after moving the capital north closer to the mountains the empire remained in control of the region they left behind.
