Avishelm

Located just south of the Vauxtara Woodland forest Avishelm is a city that has been grown rather than built with druids and wizards working together to shape trees into homes, shops, and public spaces. Towering trees with intertwined branches create a natural canopy over the city with buildings crafted from living wood that grows and changes with the seasons.
Avishelm is governed by a council of druids and wizards known as the Verdant Circle. This council ensures that the city's development remains in harmony with nature. Decisions are made through consensus, emphasizing balance and sustainability as close to nature as possible. The current leader of the city is Archdruid Serindë Thalor who has been in charge of the Verdant Circle for centuries.
Avishelm also hosts a plethora of well-known shops, utilizing nature in the process of creation.

• Sylvan Apothecary: A renowned shop specializing in rare herbs, potions, and magical reagents. Run by a half-elf named Liora Brightleaf, known for her expertise in herbalism and potion-making.
• Livingwood Smithy: A unique blacksmith shop where weapons and tools are crafted from enchanted living wood. The smith, a dwarf named Thrain Ironroot, uses both traditional and magical techniques to create durable and flexible items.
• Glimmering Grove Artisans: A collective of artists and craftsmen who create exquisite wooden sculptures, jewelry, and enchanted items. Each piece is imbued with a touch of nature's magic, making them highly sought after by collectors and adventurers alike.
• The Verdant Market: A bustling open-air market where traders from across the land come to sell their goods. Here, one can find exotic fruits, rare magical components, and handcrafted items from the forest.

Sylvan Glade - A serene district where the most beautiful living wood structures are found, known for its lush greenery and vibrant flora. Verdant Market - The bustling hub of commerce, filled with stalls and shops selling magical reagents, herbal concoctions, and finely crafted wooden goods.
Eldertree Quarter - A prestigious residential area where the oldest and most respected families of Avishelm live, featuring grand homes built into ancient trees.
Whispering Grove - A tranquil district known for its meditation gardens and sanctuaries, where residents and visitors can connect with nature and seek spiritual guidance.
Glimmerwood Enclave - A lively district hosting seasonal festivals and celebrations, famous for its enchanting lights and vibrant community events.

The city is protected by powerful tree guardians, ancient beings that can animate the forest itself to defend against threats.

Tourism

Avishelm hosts seasonal festivals celebrating the cycles of nature, with enchantments that cause the entire city to bloom or change colors in harmony with the forest. In the spring the festival of blossoms celebrates new life and growth. The entire city blooms with vibrant flowers, and magical performances and rituals take place. In the center of the city lies the heartwood grove where the oldest and largest tree, known as the Heartwood, resides. This tree is said to be the source of Avishelm's magical vitality and is a place of solice and meditation. Just north of the city next to the river is a small set of cascading waterfalls called the whispering falls that produce a soothing melody, amplified by enchantments. It's a popular spot for relaxation and contemplation.
