Golwildom, The Broken Kingdom
In the beginning, there was balance. The gods of Creation and Destruction gazed into the vast nothingness and from it, they forged Golwildom, a land of primordial chaos. From this chaos, races of people emerged, clawing their way up to form settlements and civilizations. To maintain order, six primal gods were created, each with a counterpart to preserve balance: Arcane and Knowledge paired with War, Nature and the Hunt balanced by Art, Commerce, and Modernization, and Light balanced by Dark.
The six primal gods watched over the world that Creation had made, each gaining followers through faith and teachings. However, Creation overlooked the power of non-believers, anti-religious cults, and malice towards the gods. These dark thoughts and beliefs coalesced into something unforeseen—a god born of their very antithesis. Thus, the God of Undeath came into existence, a primal god without a counterpart, wielding unchecked power.
Years into the future, Undeath struck the first blow, igniting the Great War. With Creation and Destruction too distant to intervene, the six primal gods took up the fight against the Great Deceiver. The battle shattered the world, splitting continents and sinking some beneath the oceans. Then, the unthinkable occurred—a god fell to the mortal plane. The Goddess of War was cast down, her divine energy birthing the great World Tree Icladreaf where she landed.
Though the remaining five primal gods managed to imprison Undeath, his influence continued to poison minds. In their final act, the gods locked away the largest continent, Nauquan, and created the Abericlase—stones bearing their very essence—placing them in six temples. While War's essence was missing, they harnessed a fragment of Destruction's power. A barrier formed around Nauquan, shielding it from Undeath's corruption, and the continent prospered, though it was cut off from the outside world.
Some groups ventured out on pilgrimages to spread the word of the primal gods and expand the shield's reach, but they were deceived. Even imprisoned, Undeath created false gods that spoke to each race—dwarven gods, elven gods, human gods. Regardless of alignment, these false gods ensnared the worship of many, channeling their devotion to Undeath and increasing his power. The threads of worship in half the world fed his strength, and thus, the god of Undeath continued to grow, his reach ever extending, even from his prison.
The final battle inches closer now as pawns are moved on the grand chessboard of destiny. There are still some brave few who unknowingly answer the call, driven by ancient prophecies and the whispers of the primal gods. These heroes stand as the last bastion against the encroaching darkness. Can the world be restored and Undeath's corruption be put to rest, or will he consume everything for his own nefarious intentions? The fate of Golwildom hangs in the balance, as the ancient struggle between the gods reaches its zenith. The world's future rests in the hands of those daring enough to challenge the darkness, to rekindle the light of hope, and to restore the delicate balance that once was. Will you answer the call?
