History
Filal Nalore was founded millennia ago as a border settlement to protect the elven realm from the dangers of the desert. It quickly grew into a thriving town, serving as a gateway between the forest and the desert. Thalion Everstar, a figure from centuries past, was initially viewed by his peers as an eccentric due to his meticulous preparations for disasters that others deemed improbable. A visionary of sorts, he stockpiled resources, created extensive escape plans, and trained others in survival tactics. When a severe magical sandstorm from the creation of the Sterile Fields swept in from the desert that brought hostile conditions and creatures his preparations were instrumental in defending Filal Nalore. Thalion’s foresight led to the construction of protective barricades and survival systems that allowed the town to withstand the onslaught. In his honor, Thalion’s Watch was erected, both to commemorate his wisdom and serve as an ever-vigilant symbol of readiness against threats from the desert.
Points of interest
Temple of Krorone: The grand temple dedicated to the goddess of the night and dark. The temple is a place of worship and meditation, where the elves pay homage to Krorone. Multiple aspects of the faith reside here from the moon, the night's sky, thieves guilds, and even love and fertility. The interpretations of the dark goddess expand to all tenants of faith and are not bound to the singular moon and balance aspect further south in Llanfyl.
Thalion’s Watch: A tall tower built to honor Thalion Everstar, offering a breathtaking view of both the forest and the desert. It serves as a lookout point and a symbol of the city’s resilience.
The Whispering Glade: A sacred grove where the oldest and most powerful trees reside. It is said that those who listen closely can hear the voices of the forest spirits.
