Reality Tearing Dagger
This dagger is a sleek, black blade that hums with a barely contained power. The edge seems to shimmer, as if it’s not entirely anchored in this reality. When you hold it, you can feel the thinness of the veil between worlds. The dagger itself is crafted from materials based on the plane that it is from and acts as a gateway to be able to tear through the fabric of reality to a designated plane.
Mechanics & Inner Workings
Damage: 1d4 piercing
Properties: Finesse, light, thrown (range 20/60)
Bonus to Attack and Damage Rolls: +3
Special Abilities:
Tear in Reality (3 Charges, 1 slot recharge per day. If all 3 are used, there is a 5% change that the dagger will be destroyed):
As an action, you can slice through the fabric of reality with the dagger, casting Plane Shift (no material components required). You can target yourself and up to 8 willing creatures within 10 feet of you. The dagger itself determines the plane based on the materials that it was made from. If made from feywild material, then the plane shift will only take you into the feywild.
Reality Anchor:
While attuned to this dagger, you have advantage on saving throws against being banished or forcibly shifted to another plane against your will. If you fail a saving throw against such an effect, you can choose to automatically succeed, causing the dagger to flare with energy as it anchors you to your current plane. This ability can be used once per long rest.
Dimensional Step:
As a bonus action, you can use the dagger to cut a small tear in reality, allowing you to teleport up to 60 feet to an unoccupied space you can see. This does not require a use of the Tear in Reality ability. You can use this ability a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest.
Unstable Slash:
When you score a critical hit with this dagger, the target must make a DC 18 Charisma saving throw. On a failed save, the target is banished that plane of existence for 1 minute. At the end of each of its turns, the target can repeat the saving throw, returning to the space it left or the nearest unoccupied space if that space is occupied on a success. If the target is native to the plane that it was banished to, it is unable to return.
