Trealing

Trealing was once the pinnacle of medical innovation, renowned for its scientific approach to healing. The town's healers mastered techniques that infused medicine with minimal magic, using advanced knowledge of anatomy, chemistry, and alchemy. Today, Trealing remains a center of medical expertise, but its influence has waned as the rise of clerics and paladins has led many to seek more profound divine healing over scientific solutions since the fall. Despite this, Trealing is still the place to go for those seeking advanced, non-magical remedies for illness or injury. They still retain some of the best medical professionals in the lands and have the best herbal remedies that money can buy.

History

Trealing was founded several centuries ago by a group of forward-thinking scholars and physicians who sought to break free from the reliance on magic for healing. They wanted to create a place where science could thrive, believing that non-magical solutions would be more sustainable and accessible in the long term. The Abericlase, a rare mineral that was integral to many of Trealing’s medical advancements, was discovered nearby and became the town’s key resource.   The town flourished, with researchers and patients coming from all over to witness its advancements in medicine. However, when the Abericlase went dark the technology that had thrusted them hundreds of years into the future, their dominance waned. Many began turning back to divine healing, and the town had to adapt to maintain its relevance. Today, though no longer at its peak, Trealing is still a respected center for medical treatment, though the shadow of its former glory looms over its streets.
