Yantalos
Yantalos is a secluded and mystical forest inhabited by elves who are fiercely protective of their homeland. The region is governed by a hierarchy of priests, led by the wise and enigmatic Vica and the remainder of the moon elves by Nessa Emberheart. Yantalos is known for its pristine beauty and the secrecy maintained by its inhabitants. Outsiders are only permitted to traverse the forest via a single trade route, and any deviation from this path is met with lethal consequences.
Geography
Ancient, towering trees with thick canopies create a perpetual twilight beneath them. The forest floor is carpeted with lush undergrowth, and numerous crystal-clear streams and rivers wind their way through the landscape. The air is filled with the scent of pine and blooming wildflowers, and the sounds of wildlife echo through the trees. Mist often shrouds the forest, adding to its mysterious and ethereal atmosphere.
Fauna & Flora
The flora of Yantalos is diverse and abundant. Majestic oaks, pines, and ancient sequoias dominate the landscape, while a variety of ferns, mosses, and flowering plants blanket the forest floor. The forest is also home to many rare and magical plants, used by the elves for their healing and enchanting properties.
The fauna of Yantalos is equally diverse. Graceful deer, elusive foxes, and curious raccoons roam the forest, while eagles and owls soar above the treetops. The rivers and streams are teeming with fish, though outsiders are forbidden from fishing. The elves share a deep bond with the animals, often communicating with and protecting them.
History
The forest of Yantalos has been the ancestral home of the elves for centuries. Around 100 years ago, the moon elves sought refuge in Yantalos after being deceived by Vecna. They were welcomed and integrated into the existing elven society. Thirty years ago, during the war with the orcs, the elves of Yantalos chose to remain neutral, only vowing to intervene if the conflict reached their borders. Their decision to stay out of the war has fostered a deep sense of unity and independence among the inhabitants. This set up a stance of racism and hatred towards the elves.
